Kerala PSC Last Grade Servants Exam 2020 Preparation & Notification Details

Eligibility to apply for Last Grade Servants Exam

Basic eligibility details and factors to know before applying as on (EXTRA ORDINARY GAZETTE DATE 31/12/2019) the latest LGS Notification is provided below.

  • Category No is 548/2019.
  • The last date 5th of Febraury 2019.
  • Application are invited for recruitment in various departments.
  • The scale of pay is ₹16,500 – 35,700/-
  • Number of Vacancies (District wise) is current not estimated.
  • Method of Appointment is Direct Recruitment.

Who all can apply for LGS Exam 2020?

  • Qualification to apply for this post – Should have passed standard VII and should not have acquired any graduation. Those who had joined for various degree exams and didn’t yet passed the exam can also apply for the post. Those who are having these qualifications like Under Graduates, Pre-Degree, Plus 1 / Plus 2, SSLC, ITI, Diploma, Last Year Graduates etc.
  • Age : 18-36. Candidates born between 02.01.1983 and 01.01.2001 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post.

ie, there will be vacancies all 14 districts of Kerala Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, Kasaragod.

Notification as per Government OrderG.O(P) No. 12/2016/P & ARD dated 04.06.2016.
Rank List Separate Rank List for Each District.
Rank List Validity 1 Year.
Validity Extension Till 3 Years / Publication of New Rank List.
Application Submission to be submitted in 1 district only.
Advice advised against vacancies arising in the Headquarters of different Departments.
Allotment by Kerala Public Service Commissionwhich will be allotted to all districts from Thiruvananthapuram to Kasaragod.
Transfer Not eligible to transfer to another district until 5 years of continuous service.
Prohibited from applying who are currently in service holding this post.
Not appointment in Government Secretariat, Legislative Secretariat, State Audit Department, Kerala Public Service Commission and Advocate General’s Office
Caste/Community Claim Publish new details in Gazette and produce Community Certificate/Non Creamy Layer Certificate at the time of One Time Verification or as and when required by the Commission.
Maximum age limit (after all relaxations) shall not exceed 50 years.

Last Grade Servants Exam Date.

After the previous LGS exam held in the year 2017 the ranklist came into existence in June 2018.

The exam was conducted on 2 different dates 06/1/2018 and 13/01/2018

The ranklist will be valid till June 2021.

The expected exam date for LGS exam will be after August 2020 (the date and schedule is not yet finalised by Kerala Public Service Commission).

Total applicants for LGS Exam 2017 were 8,54,811.

Most number applicants were from Trivandrum District and least nos were from Kasargod.

Posts included for recruiment via LGS Exam

Last Grade Servants Exam is conducted to recruit eligible candidates in posts like Watchman, Watcher, Night Watchman, Guard, Night Guard, Cleaner cum conductor, Lascar, Gate Keeper, Bullkeeper, Animal Keeper etc.

It has to be ntoed that women candidates will not be recruited for the above mentioned posts and their appointment is made in posts like Matron, Watch Women in Social Justice Department etc.

Medical certificate must be produced to certify that the candiate is physically fit.

The no of male and female candidates being recruited will not be equal in no as Kerala PSC follows a pass over method to consider male candidates and female candidates based on the posts for next recruitment to be made. For example, if the next available post to be filled is night watchman and the available candiate as per the list is a women, she will not be considered and the opportunity will be passed to the next male candidate.
