Kerala Administrative Service (KAS) Exam Date 2020.

The Exam Date of the first ever Kerala Administrative Service (KAS) Exam has been officially declared by Kerala Public Service Commission.

The prelims exam of KAS will be held on 22nd of February 2020.

Exam for mains will be held later in the year 2020 and government is aiming to bring out the first cadre of KAS during the tenure of this government.

The last date to apply for Kerala Administrative Exam was on 4th of December 2019.

Kerala Administrative Service KAS Notification 2019-2020

The much-awaited notification for Kerala Administrative Service (KAS) Examination has been officially published on November 1st, 2019, on the special day of Kerala Piravi which marks the birth of the state of Kerala.

KAS Aspirants has been waiting for this notification for about 2 years and preparations for this exam by the degree holders in the state have been going on since Kerala Government had notified the KAS details in the Kerala Gazette in December 2017.

The syllabus for KAS Exam has also been released during the special notification.

Here is the syllabus of Kerala Administrative Service Preliminary Exam

As per the notification the first rank list of KAS will be published on November 1st, 2020 for which preliminary exam will be conducted in the month of February 2020.

Recruitment is being conducted for about 150+ vacancies and it includes expected openings incoming 1 year as well.

A recently held Kerala Public Service Commission Meeting was earlier decided to release the KAS recruitment examination syllabus along with the notification.

The Commission, in its meeting, has also agreed with the direction from the government to provide a 4% reservation for persons with benchmark disabilities or PwBD candidates.

In KAS exam scheme, the first paper (general) of the Preliminary exam will carry 100 marks while the second paper will have general knowledge questions for 50 marks, questions for 30 marks for checking the expertise in administrative or local languages (Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada) and questions for 20 marks for checking English language knowledge.

KAS Exam Pattern

Preliminary Exam (O.M.R Pattern)
1) First Part – General Knowledge – 100 Marks
2) Second Part – General Knowledge – 50 Marks

Local Language – (Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada) – 30 Marks

English Language – 20 Marks

Total of 200 Marks

Main Exam (Descriptive Pattern)

  1. First Part – 100 Marks
  2. Second Part – 100 Marks
  3. Third Part – 100 Marks

Total of 300 Marks

Interview – 50 Marks

Total Marks of Rank Assessment – 350
