Kerala PSC HSA Social Science Syllabus 2021 and Preparation Strategies

After a long wait, PSC has invited candidates for the post of high school assistant for social sciences. The candidates aiming to become high school teachers can use this opportunity to realize their dream. Educational qualification for HSA social science 

The candidate should possess a degree and B.Ed. /BT in Social Science either conferred or recognized by the Universities in Kerala. To apply to this post candidate must have passed the Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (K-TET) 

Exemption: Candidates who have qualified CTET/NET/SET/M.Phil/Ph.D in the respective subjects and M.Ed in any subject are exempted from acquiring TET.

Vacancy

HSA is a state-wide exam and appointment is done based on the separate rank link made for each district. Vacancies for the post are not yet estimated and the appointment is done from the rank list during the validity of the same.

Syllabus and Exam Pattern 

Written /OMR/Online Test is conducted for the post. The exam will be conducted on 100 marks and there will be 100 questions. Each right answer gets one mark while the wrong answer gets negative 1/3 marks. Every HSA exam has 2 parts named part A and Part B. HSA social science is no exemption. Part A is general for every exam and it contains 20 marks where part B is the core subject (social science) and it carries 80 marks.

• Module I: Renaissance and freedom movement

• Module II: General Knowledge and current affairs 

• Module III: Methodology of teaching the subject 

Part B 

• History 

• Economics 

• Politics and international organizations

For part A, you can use the common books used by aspirants. SCERT and NCERT books from 5 to 12 standards contribute a lot to the exams like HSA.
